Mike meeting Adam Carolla at Spec's in Austin.
Joey in Wimberley, Texas.
Joey and Dana at The Auslander.
Mike at Buc-ee's.
The episode starts with a parody of a Miley Cyrus concert radio commercial the dudes heard in the San Antonio area. The introduction includes the song Team by Lorde, which they heard frequently on the radio. While on their trip to the Texas Hill Country, they happen to meet Adam Carolla at a Mangria signing at Spec's in Austin. Days after the meet and greet (or is it greet and meet?), the photos from the event remain missing in action. Included in the chat about Texas Hill Country: Marble Falls, Wimberley, Johnson City, Boerne, Fredericksburg, and Kerrville. They also talk about their trip to the Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk. Then the conversation turns to the quality food. Later, Mike puts his psychology minor to good use as he comments on the Pavlovian response to Mexican music. They also rant about the music genre known as swamp pop. Eventually, they delve into the magical wonderland that is Buc-ee's Beaver. They also chat about the hipsters who were in Austin for South By Southwest. Late in the show, the dudes rant and rave about their experience with the German Texan culture, particularly their stop at The Auslander in Fredericksburg. Hat-tip to waitress Dana for the recommendations on the food, beer, and places to check out. The show closes with some Morrissey 80's Brit pop.
